Several of the paintings in Haven’s Legacy Series are named after qualities of a life well lived. This painting may not immediately look like a painting about courage. There is no soldier on the back of a reared-up horse about to head into battle. No act of bravery or heroism is apparent. But within the eyes of the subject you might be able to relate to a look of openness. She is allowing herself to be seen. For many of us that is a small act of courage. To be genuine and vulnerable.
